ELLEN ROBBINS
Partner, Litigation Practice Group
Akerman LLP
Ellen Robbins turns leadership into tangible impact for children, families and communities across Los Angeles. She does not simply support organizations in name; she invests her time, expertise, and personal resources to drive meaningful change. Her philanthropic commitment is especially clear through her work with Walk With Sally and Erik’s Way. As a board member and mentor, she supports children impacted by cancer, offering families emotional guidance during some of their most difficult moments. She deepens this commitment by making substantial personal donations and personally funding an annual college scholarship for deserving mentees who demonstrate resilience and character.
Since 2017, Robbins has strengthened the local safety net through Sandpipers, a women’s philanthropy group that supports agencies serving those in need. From 20192020, she co-chaired the group’s summer arts program for at-risk youth, helping create opportunities for self-expression and growth. From 2021-2025, she led Sandpiper Juniors, guiding 120 high school students in hands-on philanthropic service and modeling lifelong community engagement. This year, she was appointed to the board’s Nomination and Leadership Division to help identify and train future leaders.
Robbins has played an instrumental role in expanding equal access to education and opportunity for youth from underserved communities through her service on the Sandpipers Scholarship Committee and the Leadership Hermosa Beach Scholarship Committee, as well as through her personal funding of scholarships.
These and multiple other philanthropic efforts, including her sustained leadership in nonprofits, mentorship programs, and community initiatives exemplifies Robbins’ status as an inspirational community impact role model.
