L.A. Launch List: March 6
(Drizly)

The Los Angeles Business Journal brings you a weekly roundup of L.A. launches.

Cinedigm: The Century City film and TV distributor has joined forces with comic convention host Wizard World to produce a multiplatform digital streaming network for comic book fans. ConTV features fan-centric content from Cinedigm’s film and TV library as well as exclusive footage from panels and events at Wizard World Comic Cons. Cinedigm partnered with TV4 Entertainment last month to offer online channels for teen audiences.

Drizly: On-demand alcohol delivery apps have seen their ups and downs, but Boston startup Drizly appears to have found the right recipe, servicing 13 cities nationwide. Drizly, which already operates in nearly all neighborhoods between Santa Monica and downtown, has expanded its L.A. coverage to include the San Fernando Valley. The “Amazon for alcohol” app launched in 2012 and is backed by $4.8 million in seed funding.

Rubicon Project: The Playa Vista ad exchange firm has released Mobile Native Ad Server, a product that offers direct-sold and in-house native advertising campaigns for publishers and app developers. The server is a joint venture with Indian mobile ad platform InMobi. Rubicon had its first profitable quarter at the end of last year, with a net income of $1.4 million.

TigerText: The Santa Monica mobile messaging company has released a scalable “platform-as-a-service” to help businesses integrate its secure messaging capabilities into any application. TigerConnect pitches its enterprise-facing secure communications system to regulated industries such as financial services and legal and government agencies. One TigerConnect client is anonymous social forum app Whisper of Venice. TigerText announced earlier this month it saw its fourth consecutive year of triple-digit revenue growth.

TSL Media: The West Hollywood startup has created an online workflow management solution to give producers, agencies and studios more control and security over their script-based creative projects. ScriptNoted lets industry professional track and receive feedback on works-in-progress in film, television, online and commercial. ScriptNoted launched a similar business-to-customer product last September.
