New Branch: Windes & McClaughry Accountancy Corp., a Long Beach-based accounting services firm, has opened an outpost in downtown Los Angeles. The new branch, at 601 S. Figueroa St., is Windes & McClaughry’s third office in Los Angeles County.

Expanded Fleet: Hertz Entertainment Services, a division of Park Ridge, N.J.-based car-rental company Hertz Global Holdings Inc., has acquired 24/7 Studio Equipment in Burbank and will offer entertainment equipment and transportation rental service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

New Look: THQ Inc., an Agoura Hills-based video game developer and publisher, has adopted a new corporate logo. The new logo will be rolled out over the next few months and will begin to appear on THQ’s upcoming product releases starting February.
STUDIO CITY
Checking In: Blvd Hotel + Spa is scheduled to open in Studio City on Feb. 4. The hotel, at 10730 Ventura Blvd., has 58 rooms including 30 suites. Blvd is owned and operated by Hollywood-based PNK Group Investments.
WESTLAKE VILLAGE
Taking Off: Row 44 Inc., a Westlake Village firm that installs satellite-based broadband connections aboard commercial airliners, will start providing in-flight broadband connections on transatlantic flights after approval from the Federal Communications Commission. Thanks to the FCC license, Row 44 becomes the only provider to operate broadband connections for flights over the Atlantic Ocean.

WEST LOS ANGELES
Financial Pickup: Loop Capital Markets, a Chicago-based investment bank and brokerage firm, has acquired Gardner Underwood & Bacon LLC, a West L.A. financial advisory firm. Gardner Underwood principals and staff will transition to members of Loop’s public finance investment banking team. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
New Coat: Caltius Equity Partners, a West L.A. investment firm, has acquired a controlling interest in National Industrial Coatings Inc., an Itasca, Ill., maker of customized coatings for the graphics and packaging industries. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
SANTA MONICA
Sales Investment: Entravision Communications Corp., a Santa Monica-based owner of Spanish-language TV and radio stations, has acquired the remaining 50 percent in Lotus Entravision Reps, its New York-based national sales rep firm. Lotus handles sales for more than 156 Spanish-language radio stations. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Driving In: IndyCar, the Indianapolis-based sanctioning body of IndyCar Series and Indy Lights races, will open an office in Santa Monica. IndyCar plans to use the new outpost to pursue more brand opportunities in the media and entertainment.
