THE LATEST: Gilford joined Sidley Austin this year in Los Angeles as a partner in the firm’s global litigation group. Recognized as one of California’s leading civil litigators, Gilford was previously at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom.
BACKGROUND: Gilford focuses on complex civil litigation including class action cases as well as multidistrict litigation. She also works on products liability cases and large-scale commercial disputes. She has served as lead counsel in matters in the automotive, pharmaceutical, communications, oil and gas, aerospace and chemical manufacturing, sports, and higher-education industries.
WORTH NOTING: Gilford is a board member of the California Women’s Law Center and the Music Center, and former president of the National Association of Women Lawyers. She is a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Women’s Rainmaker Roundtable, the Black Women Lawyers Association, the Langston Bar Association and the National Bar Association.
