THE LATEST: Settle heads Greycroft’s West Coast operations from Los Angeles, where she manages the firm’s investments in companies such as Bird Rides Inc., App Annie Inc., and Thrive Market Inc. She recently placed a bet on CBD oil, participating in a multifirm investment of $3.3 million in early 2019 for the startup Prima.
BACKGROUND: Founded in 2006, Greycroft is a venture capital firm focused on technology investments. Its portfolio companies include microinvesting platform Acorns Grow Inc., money transferring app Venmo, and online and mobile wholesale retailer Boxed. Settle managed the firm’s investments in various companies that have exited, including Maker Studios Inc., which was sold to Walt Disney Co., and Sometrics Inc., which was sold to American Express Co. Prior to starting Greycroft, Settle spent several years as a venture capitalist and adviser to Bay Area startups.
