THE LATEST: In February and March, Wallace’s venture capital firm participated in Opendoor Labs Inc.’s $300 million financing round and soon after put money into Aurora Solar Inc.’s Series A round. As of April, Fifth Wall was close to completing financing on a $500 million fund.
BACKGROUND: Wallace co-founded Fifth Wall Ventures with managing partner Brad Greiwe in 2016. The Venice-based venture capital firm invests in technologies that can optimize and improve the experience of physical retail spaces. Its portfolio includes short-term retail space leasing marketplace Appear Here, monthly gym and fitness membership service ClassPass Inc., and coworking and shared office company Industrious. The firm manages $265 million in assets. Before starting Fifth Wall, Wallace co-founded Latin American ride-sharing service, Cabify. He has led investments in Lyft Inc., Space Exploration Technologies Inc., Dollar Shave Club Inc., Philz Coffee Inc., Zenefits and Bonobos Inc.
WORTH NOTING: Wallace began dating British actress Emma Watson last fall.
