THE LATEST: In 2018 Ahmanson received the Access to Justice award from the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and in 2017 he was granted the Cardinal’s Award from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

BACKGROUND: Ahmanson heads the Ahmanson Foundation, which was created in 1952 by his great uncle Howard Ahmanson. The organization supports arts and humanities, education, health and medicine, and human services in Los Angeles County. Prior to joining the foundation, Ahmanson worked in banking and wealth management at Union Bank and Home Savings of America. In 2010, he was honored by Pope Benedict XVI with the Benemerenti medal and knighted in the Order of Saint Gregory the Great for his service to the Catholic Church. Ahmanson is on the boards of trustees at Caltech, Center Theater Group, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Loyola Marymount University.

WORTH NOTING: Ahmanson served for 10 years as a Los Angeles Police Department reserve officer.
