THE LATEST: In the first quarter of 2019, Langley’s Universal had three films open at No. 1 at the North American box office, and the studio held the top spot at the domestic box office for six weekends. That followed a 2018 in which “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” earned more than $1 billion.

BACKGROUND: Langley oversees global production, marketing and distribution for Universal Pictures, Universal Pictures International, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, Focus Features and DreamWorks Animation. She has helped Universal energize the “Fast and Furious,” “Jurassic Park,” “Jason Bourne” and “Pitch Perfect” franchises. Langley began her career at New Line Cinema. She joined Universal in 2001 as senior vice president of production. Langley has been honored with Producers Guild of America’s Milestone Award and the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation Pioneer of the Year Award.

WORTH NOTING: Langley is a voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and serves on the board of trustees for the American Film Institute.
