THE LATEST: Martin’s architecture firm recently completed work on the Parker Laboratory at Caltech, which focuses on genetic, genomic and neurobiological basis of symbiotic interactions in animals. The downtown-based firm has designed a number of high-profile projects across Los Angeles, including the Wilshire Grand, a mixed-use project with a 73-story tower that became the tallest building west of the Mississippi when it opened in 2017.

BACKGROUND: AC Martin is on the board of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp. and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He is also on co-chair of the Board of Councilors for the School of Architecture at USC.

WORTH NOTING: Martin renovated downtown’s Hall of Justice, which was built in 1925 and was overhauled to repair earthquake damage. It reopened in 2011.
