BACKGROUND: Kieffer is a partner and chairman of the government and regulatory practice at Manatt Phelps & Phillips and has served as one of the region’s leading lawyers. A principal co-author of the Los Angeles Charter, he advises clients and public officials on the charter and administrative code as well as government contracts, procurement and public policy issues. He has served as a counselor to Los Angeles mayors and California governors. Kieffer is chairman of the Los Angeles Civic Alliance and a former two-time chairman of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also chairman of the University of California’s Board of Regents.
WORTH NOTING: A recognized composer, Kieffer recently released the single “A Winter Song” and an album of solo piano called “Encounters with the Moon.”
