As chief executive of Legendary Entertainment, Joshua Grode has led the Burbank-based studio since December 2017. The studio is behind the “MonsterVerse” and “Dune” franchises. In the past year under his leadership, Legendary closed a three-year theatrical distribution deal with Paramount Pictures in September. It was also reported that Legendary was considering acquiring Lionsgate Studios following Lionsgate’s separation from Starz. Before joining Legendary, Grode was a partner and transactions practice chair at Irell & Manella, advising on deals involving a host of entertainment-industry organizations, including A24 and Marvel Studios.
