The Gores Group
Alec Gores founded The Gores Group, a Beverly Hills-based firm, in 1987 and has since grown it into a global investment firm with more than 20 portfolio companies generating more than $7 billion in combined revenue. A private equity pioneer in operational improvement and corporate carve-outs, Gores has also been among the most prolific SPAC sponsors in finance. In May 2025, Gores Holdings X closed a $358.8 million IPO on Nasdaq, the largest SPAC IPO of the year, with an upsized offering from an initial $312 million target. The firm focuses on the industrial, technology, and consumer sectors and favors long-term partnership investments.
