Beverly Hills-based Platinum Equity, which Tom Gores founded in 1995, marks its 30th anniversary in 2025 with approximately $50 billion in assets under management and over 500 completed acquisitions across six global offices. The milestone year was marked by significant deal activity: in February 2025, the firm acquired Héroux-Devtek, a leading international aerospace manufacturer and the world’s third-largest landing gear maker. In November, Platinum announced the $7.4 billion merger of Husky Technologies with CompoSecure. Off the balance sheet, Gores led the ownership group awarded a WNBA expansion franchise for Detroit, set to begin play in 2029.
