Grode is the chief executive of Legendary Entertainment, a studio with film (Legendary Pictures), television (Legendary Television), digital (Digital Media, Nerdist) and comics (Legendary Comics) divisions with offices in Burbank and Beijing. Prior to joining Legendary, Grode was a partner and a member of the executive management committee at Century City law firm Irell & Manella LLP, where he was also chair of its transactions practice. At Irell, Grode focused on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and day-to-day corporate governance matters. Among the deals he handled were the sale of Summit Entertainment to Lionsgate for $600 million. Grode sits on multiple boards and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
