2026 CFO of the Year Awards: TURNAROUND ACHIEVEMENT CFO OF THE YEAR HONOREE

CHARLIE BORSHEIM
Chief Financial Officer
Keslow Camera

Charlie Borsheim joined Keslow Camera in January 2016 as its chief financial officer, stepping into a company that needed strategic financial leadership. Since 1990, Keslow Camera has been providing camera equipment for motion picture, television and commercial productions throughout North America and around the globe but sustaining and growing that legacy required more than great equipment. It required a CFO who could build the financial infrastructure to match the company’s ambitions. From day one, Borsheim created a long-term discipline the company needed. He devel-oped the first-ever five-year projection model inclusive of the capital expenditures needed to maintain a robust and diverse inventory base. This was a defining moment that signaled a shift from reactive financial management to intentional, forward-looking leadership. His impact on growth has been equally significant. He implemented an acquisition strategy program that led to multiple acquisitions of strategic targets, and also implemented a program to acquire properties used by the company to control long-term operating costs. One of the most consequential of those acquisitions came in March 2023, when Keslow acquired Sim Camera, a Canadian camera rental company. The deal meaningfully expand-ed Keslow’s North American footprint, adding offices in Vancouver, Toronto, and North Bay. The deal deepened the company’s reach into one of the continent’s most active pro-duction markets. On the balance sheet, Borsheim has been equally disciplined. He has taken the company through more than five debt restructurings, leading to a material decrease in balance sheet debt and cost of capital.
