Damian Gancman has spent 21 years helping build Cityview into the most active multifamily developer in Los Angeles. As CFO, COO and a member of the firm’s investment committee, he sits at the intersection of every major decision the firm makes – financial, operational and strategic – and his fingerprints are on virtually every milestone Cityview has reached. Under his financial leadership, Cityview has invested more than $7 billion across more than 150 projects. Since 2024, as debt expirations converged with one of the most volatile capital markets in recent memory, Gancman led the execution of new loan originations, refinancings, and loan modifications totaling $1.75 billion while simultaneously expanding joint venture and investor relationships to position the firm for the opportunities ahead. His approach to leadership is forward-looking by nature. Gancman has embraced technology and AI, developing a library of AI prompts that streamline everything from reforecasting business plans to cash flow analysis. He has sourced a suite of business intelligence and market analytics platforms to sharpen portfolio management and built partnerships with outside firms to drive accounting efficiency. In his CFO/COO role, he oversees Cityview’s operations, serves as a bridge that strengthens the collaboration between departments, and supports the strategic growth of its finance, acquisition, asset management and property management functions. In 2023, he was instrumental in the closing of Cityview’s seventh discretionary fund focusing on multifamily value-add and development opportunities in gateway markets throughout the US. He also helped launch Cityview’s opportunity zone fund platform, which raised $300 million from more than 150 high-net-worth investors.
