THE LATEST: Greiwe’s venture capital firm Fifth Wall Ventures made a series of strategic investments this year. In February and March, the firm participated in Opendoor Labs Inc.’s $300 million financing round, and soon after it put money into Aurora Solar’s Series A round. As of April, Fifth Wall was close to completing financing on a $500 million fund.

BACKGROUND: Greiwe co-founded Fifth Wall in 2016 with fellow managing partner Brendan Wallace. The Venice-based venture capital firm invests in technologies that can optimize and improve the experience of physical retail spaces. Its portfolio includes short-term retail space leasing marketplace Appear Here Ltd., monthly gym and fitness membership service ClassPass Inc., and coworking and shared office company Industrious. The firm currently manages $265 million in assets. Greiwe also co- founded Invitation Homes Inc., a large owner and operator of single-family rental properties. He started his career at UBS Investment Bank where he worked on more than $33 billion of M&A transactions in the real estate, lodging and leisure group.

WORTH NOTING: A Cincinnati native, Greiwe earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University.
