LA500 2025: Antonio Bernardo

Antonio Bernardo

Dean, John E. Anderson Chair
UCLA

Bernardo, who has taught more than 5,000 students in his 30-year-long tenure at UCLA, announced in September he would wrap up his sixth and final year as the dean of the Anderson School of Management at the end of the 2025 academic year. When he was appointed as its ninth dean, it was after years of reported research on corporate bailouts, which served as a launching point for a series of policy recommendations lawmakers used as they were designing future bailout regulations. His current research involves understanding how the debt and equity companies hold onto can determine capital structure decisions in different industries. As the dean, Bernardo updated the school’s MBA curriculum to include training around artificial intelligence and more.
