United Online has signed a deal to make high-speed mobile service available under the company’s NetZero brand.

Based in Woodland Hills, United Online has offered no-cost or low-cost dial-up Internet service since 1998. In partnership with Clearwire, an operator of mobile phone services based in Bellevue, Wash., the company will sell mobile Internet access for personal computers and tablets.

The service will launch early next year.

“Having revolutionized the dial-up market more than a decade ago, our goal is to bring the same level of innovation and competitive advantage to the 4G high-speed mobile broadband market,” Mark Goldston, chief executive of United Online, said in a statement.

After markets closed on Wednesday, United Online reported third-quarter results in a separate announcement. Earnings for the quarter were $20.3 million or 23 cents per share, down from $21.5 million or 25 cents per share in the same quarter last year.

Shares of United Online closed Wednesday at $5.53, a decrease of 9 cents or 2 percent for the day.
