California voters will have an opportunity to weigh in on a proposal to increase the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2021. A ballot measure proposed by the SEIU United Healthcare Workers West qualified to appear on the ballot, according to the Associated Press. If passed, the measure would raise the minimum wage by $1 an hour over the course of the next five years. After 2021, minimum wage increases tied to the cost of living would be implemented.
