Century City investment firm Ares Management announced Monday it had raised $7.85 billion for its fifth global flexible capital private equity fund, Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund V. Like its predecessors, the new fund will continue pursuing opportunistic investments primarily in North American and European businesses.

West L.A. private equity firm Brentwood Associates announced Tuesday it has made a “significant” investment in San Francisco-based seafood restaurant chain Pacific Catch. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Westwood alternative investment firm Shamrock Capital Advisors announced Monday it has acquired a majority stake in London-based Silvergate Media Ltd., an international TV production and licensing company focused on preschool children’s entertainment. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.
