In Tuesday trading, the Dow Jones industrial average closed up 126 points, or 1 percent, to 14,254.
The Nasdaq was unchanged at 3,050.
The S&P 500 rose 15 points, or 1 percent, to 1,540.
The LABJ Stock Index rose more than 1 point, or 1 percent, to 148.
