Crime Way Up in DTLA

Violent crime in Downtown Los Angeles last year was way up – as in by 52 percent – over 2014 levels, according to Downtown News. Overall in the city, violent crime was up 20 percent. A police captain said the jump downtown was due to increases in business and residential communities as well as to the decisions to release inmates.
