Council Approval Gets Quake Retrofits Underway

The Los Angeles City Council has agreed that renters and apartment owners must share the financial burden of earthquake retrofitting equally, according to the Los Angeles Times. The agreement allows the city to begin implementing the most sweeping mandatory seismic laws in the nation.
