The annual star-studded women’s conference that drew thousands to Long Beach will not be held here this fall.
California Governor & First Lady’s Conference on Women, the non-profit organization that produced The Women’s Conference event during the Schwarzenegger administration under former First Lady Maria Shriver, announced that it has been dissolved,
“I have shared with the outgoing conference board that I will focus my immediate energies on the challenges before our state and won’t try to recreate the conference that Maria put on in Long Beach,” California First Lady and Special Counsel to the Governor Anne Brown said in a statement.
As for future conferences, the first lady and the governor are looking at the form that the conference may take, said Ea spokeswoman for the governor’s office.
