TigerText, the company that powers text messaging systems for businesses, has added features to its messaging app to broaden its enterprise appeal.
Hospitals and health care providers, which require secure and regulation-compliant communication among staff and patients, have made up the bulk of TigerText’s business. But the Santa Monica company is hoping the latest additions to its app will resonate with businesses in finance, government and legal.
The biggest addition is the introduction of a real-time reporting interface, which shares metadata on delivered messages without sharing their confidential content. Business administrators, for example, can now track when messages were sent, received and read to enforce accountability within their organizations. The analytics data will also help TigerText gain insight on how to improve productivity for its app.
Other updated features include a streamlined registration process, support for multiple accounts and a redesigned user interface.
“Businesses like ours thrive on scale,” said Johnathan Podemsky, vice president of product. “It’s a network effect that we’re looking to take place, bringing more people to the platform and creating networks in organizations.”
TigerText said last month it is expecting to triple revenue this year. The company, which has 4 million users in 5,000 facilities, has raised more than $31 million in venture capital funding since launching in 2010.
