ServiceTitan Raises $62 Million in Series C
ServiceTitan, a Glendale-based software app for service professionals, announced $62 million in Series C funding, the Business Journal reports. The funding round was led by Battery Ventures and will be used to expand the company from 400 to 500 employees by the end of the year, as well as for product enhancement and partnership expansion. ServiceTitan was founded in 2012 and is a mobile, cloud-based app used by home service companies such as plumbers, electricians and other HVAC professionals to organize their workflow and grow their businesses.
Elon Musk Pulls Tesla and SpaceX Facebook Pages
Elon Musk is hopping on the #DeleteFacebook digital bandwagon, Bloomberg reports. Musk is the highest-profile tech figure to join people who are expunging Facebook from their lives after it was revealed a firm that worked for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign kept data from 50 million Facebook users even after telling the company it had destroyed the information. Facebook Inc. shares fell 1.1 percent to $163.10 at 1:31 p.m. Friday in New York and have slumped almost 12 percent since the revelation, and lawmakers are calling on Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg to testify in front of Congress.
MoviePass, the movie subscription startup service, lowered its price again, the Hollywood Reporter reports. The company said for $6.95 per month, new subscribers will get one movie ticket per day, a minor catch being that users must pay for a year up-front. There is also a one-time $6.55 processing fee. MoviePass launched six years ago at $40 per month (before raising it to $50), and eight months ago cut the price to $9.95. The change had the desired effect, as subscribers swelled from 20,000 then to nearly 3 million today.
