UpKeep Lands $10 Million in Series A

UpKeep, a Los Angeles-based facilities maintenance company, announced $10 million in Series A funding, led by Emergence Capital, the Business Journal reports. As part of the deal, Kevin Spain, a partner at Emergence, will join UpKeep’s board. UpKeep functions as a mobile and cloud-based app that allows facility management teams to organize maintenance projects for a $25 monthly fee.

Bumble Responds to Tinder

Bumble, the dating app that lets women make the first move, responded to a patent lawsuit that Match, the parent company of Tinder, filed against the startup for violating two patents and for allegedly stealing trade secrets, Recode reports. Bumble responded with a full page ad in the New York Times. “We swipe left on you,” the ad reads. “We swipe left on your multiple attempts to buy us, copy us, and, now, to intimidate us. We’ll never be yours. No matter the price tag, we’ll never compromise our values.”

11 Honore Receives $8 Million Funding Round

11 HonorĂ©, an online shopping platform offering designer runway styles in sizes 10 to 24, announced it has raised $8M in Series A financing, led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from existing investors Forerunner Ventures, Upfront Ventures, Greycroft and Canvas Ventures, the Business Journal reports. The investment brings the company’s total funding to $11.5M.
