Insight Acquires PCM for $581 Million in Cash and Debt
The Business Journal reports El Segundo-based technology hardware, software and services firm PCM Inc. will be acquired by Tempe, Ariz.-based Insight Enterprises Inc. in a deal worth roughly $581 million. The acquisition adds PCM’s 40 offices and 4,000 employees across the U.S., Canada and the U.K. to Insight’s operation.
Virgin Hyperloop One Explores Missouri Potential
Socaltech reports L.A.’s Virgin Hyperloop One will work with St. Louis, Mo.-based Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts to map out architectural plans for possible hyperloop applications. The St. Louis Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Missouri Department of Transportation are also participating, though financial details weren’t disclosed.
Hawthorne-based SpaceX will launch an important mission today, carrying 24 separate payloads into three different orbits. ArsTechnica reports this is a historic flight for SpaceX: it’s the first time the U.S. Air Force is allowing loads to be transported on previously-used rockets (SpaceX typically recycles boosters, not the entire rocket).
