Video doorbell and security device startup Ring has raised a $109 million Series D round from a variety of investors including DFJ Growth, Goldman Sachs Investment Partners, and Qualcomm Ventures, reports TechCrunch. The company is eyeing an initial public offering of its stock this year.

Musk Endorses Former ExxonMobil Chief Tillerson for Sec. of State

Elon Musk endorsed former ExxconMobil Chief Executive Rex Tillerson for the position of Secretary of State, reports Gizmodo. The endorsement was a surprise for some as Musk has been critical of the fossil fuel industry.

3-D Car Part Printer Divergent Raises $23 Million

Divergent 3-D, a 3-D printer of car parts, raised a $23 million round led by Hong Kong-based Horizons Ventures, reports 3D Printing Industry. The company claims its methods significantly cut down on the amount of waste material and cost of traditional car manufacturing methods.
