L.A. Among the Finalists for Amazon’s 2nd Headquarters
Los Angeles was named by Amazon as one of the 20 finalist cities for the Seattle e-commerce giant’s second headquarters, The Business Journal reports. Amazon announced last year that it was looking to open a second headquarters, which is expected to employ about 50,000 workers.
Jam City Develops ‘Harry Potter’ Game
Jam City unveiled its first look at one of 2018’s most anticipated mobile games, “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery,” VentureBeat reports. The Los Angeles mobile game maker cut a deal with author J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. to make the game where players can create their own character and experience life as a Hogwarts student.
Apple Leases 128,000 Square Feet in Culver City
Apple agreed to lease the entirety of Lincoln Property Co.’s 128,000-square-foot building at 8777 Washington Boulevard in Culver City, The Real Deal reports. Located on the corner of Washington and National boulevards just seven miles east of the Santa Monica Pier, the four-story complex will include office space, as well as 4,500 square feet of ground-level retail.
