FoxNext launches indie game fund; Gigajot broadens Pasadena reach; Foot Locker invests in Goat

Gigajot Bolsters Pasadena Footprint

The Business Journal reports Pasadena-based microchip manufacturer Gigajot Technology Inc. will move from a 100-square-foot office space to a 3,257-square-foot headquarters. The three-year lease at the Gateway Metro Center in Pasadena is Gigajot’s largest office since its 2017 incorporation. To date, Gigajot employs roughly 10 people, but with new space to fill, it’s likely hiring efforts will increase.

Foot Locker Invests in Goat

Online sneaker marketplace 1661 Inc., doing business as Goat and operating in Culver City, secured $100 million in funding from Foot Locker Inc. The Business Journal reports Foot Locker wants to collaborate with 1661 in addition to investing and bridge the gap between Foot Locker’s brick-and-mortar offerings and 1661’s online sales. Foot Locker has over 3,000 physical locations, and 1661 reports it sells to more than 12 million customers to date.

FoxNext Launches Century City Game Development Fund

FoxNext Games, a division of Twentieth Century Fox Corp., launched a fund to support indie game developers, according to VentureBeat. Run out of FoxNext’s Culver City office, the fund will support console, mobile, and PC games. Details on the fund’s total raise were not disclosed.
