SpaceX Plans to Send Tourists Around the Moon
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. announced plans this afternoon to send two tourists around the Moon by the end of 2018, reports the Business Journal. The company said in a blog post that the aspiring space voyagers have already paid a significant deposit for the flight and more space tourist flights are expected, pending a successful first mission.
HomeHero Shuts Down After Shift to Employee Model
Online elderly caregiver marketplace HomeHero will close its doors after unsuccessfully switching its workforce from contract status to employee status, according to a blog post by the company’s chief executive, Kyle Hill. Last year, the company offered full-time jobs to its 1,200 independently contracted workers, claiming the move was to chase lucrative in-home care deals with hospitals, but it acknowledged in its post that the switch was in fact made because of legal pressure surrounding misclassification of its employees.
RealD Acquires MasterImage’s Assets
RealD acquired the assets and 3-D technology of MasterImage, which it had successfully sued for patent infringement, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
