Uproxx Media Sold to Warner Music

Culver City-based Uproxx Media Group is being sold to Warner Music Group, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The publishing house, which distributes content from sites such as HitFix, Dime, and Uproxx.com had laid off roughly 10 employees in April and rebranded in early 2017. Terms of the sale to Warner Music have not been disclosed.

SpaceX Selected for NASA Launch

SpaceX and NASA have set a deadline of April 2019 for launching astronauts into space on a SpaceX capsule, Socaltech reports. NASA reports it is targeting a demo flight without a crew in November 2018, a precursory test to the manned spaceflight. This is the latest in NASA’s commercial crew program efforts to bring spaceflight launches back to U.S. soil.

Hyperloop Technologies May Be Building Cupertino Line

Cupertino City Council is considering contracting Culver City-based Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc. to build a rapid transit hyperloop train, CNet reports. Apple Inc., which has a new campus in Cupertino, reportedly supports the proposal, which would decrease the transportation time from DeAnza College to San Jose from roughly two hours to five minutes.
