The pay gap between women and men in tech jobs in Los Angeles widened 15.5 percent on average for the time period of 2011 to 2015 compared with the previous five years, according to an estimate by the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, reports the Business Journal. Women in computer and mathematical occupations in Los Angeles made on average 82 cents for every dollar men made between 2011 to 2015.

Tastemade Expands Its Live Events with Smorgasburg Partnership

Cooking media company Tastemade is moving deeper into real-life events through a partnership with outdoor foodie market Smorgasburg, reports DigiDay. The company will sell sponsorships to events at Smorgasburg locations in New York and Los Angeles, such as concerts, food festivals and other events.

Drone Companies to Be Honored at Emmy Awards

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Tuesday revealed the recipients of the 69th annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards, including several Hollywood drone companies, which are being honored for their contributions to the technical aspects of using drones for cinematography, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The honorees for the technical work in drone cinematography include John McGraw, PictorVision, Aerial MOB, Astraeus Aerial, Flying Cam, Vortex Aerial, Helivideo Productions, Snaproll Media and DJI.
