Snap Inc. Acquires GeoFilter Patent from Mobi for $7.7 Million
Moshe Hogeg, co-founder of Mobli, signed a deal earlier this month to transfer the firm’s geofilters patent over to Snap Inc. for $7.7 million dollars, reports GeekTime. The patent is focused on a feature similar to Snapchat’s geo filters, special photo filters that are available by geolocation.
Hyperloop One’s Chief Marketing Officer Kimberly Salzer Leaves for Ozobot
Hyperloop One’s chief marketing officer, Kimberly Salzer, left the company in mid-March after spending a year with the firm, reports Recode. She now works as chief marketing officer for Ozobot, a company that makes small robots to help teach kids how to code.
CalTech, UCLA Ranked Top Universities for Technology Transfer
CalTech and UCLA were ranked as top 25 schools for technology transfer by the Milken Institute think tank, according to a press release. The report ranked universities across the United States for their ability to develop basic research into new technologies, products, and companies.
