A weekly roundup of L.A. tech company and product launches.

Akana: West L.A.’s Akana, an API software maker, announced the launch of API analytics platform Envision. The new platform can be used to analyze how software APIs are used, how they perform and the value they provide.

Atom Factory: Music agency and digital media company Atom Factory of Culver City has launched an accelerator program named SMASHD Labs. The 10-week program will offer $50,000 in cash, office space and mentorship in exchange for a 3 percent equity stake.

X1: Computer file search software company X1 of Pasadena has launched a cloud version of its software. Previously limited to desktops, X1’s search software will now be able to search through files stored in the cloud.

Rubicon: Rubicon Project, a Playa Vista digital advertising exchange, has opened a Washington, D.C., office. The office was set up to chase what is expected to be nearly $1 billion in digital advertising spending by political campaigns in 2016.

UberMedia: Digital advertising optimization platform UberMedia of Pasadena launched Location Visit Optimization, a product designed to boost retail store visits. LVO is a machine-learning software system that finds what mobile advertisements drive consumers to brick-and-mortar stores and automatically adjusts media buying accordingly.

Vubiquity: L.A.’s Vubiquity announced a partnership with Atlanta’s Turner Broadcasting to convert cable television broadcasts into formats suitable for on-demand cable and Internet viewing. Vubiquity’s technology automatically converts cable programs into on-demand and online video formats, complete with markings that indicate advertising slots, as they are broadcast.

ZipRecruiter: Santa Monica’s ZipRecruiter launched ZipSearch, a job listing plug-in for online publishers. Publishers earn revenue from ZipRecruiter when visitors to their websites click on ZipSearch job advertisements.
