Fetch Technologies, a USC spinout that has developed online data aggregation and analysis software, has been sold Connotate Inc., a New Jersey tech company that sells similar products.
Fetch, which has customer s that include ecommerce site Shopzilla, helps companies process large amounts of intelligence, news and other Internet data in real time. Companies can use the results for market analysis and background screenings.
Founded in 1999, Fetch employs technology based on artificial intelligence research at the USC Information Sciences Institute. Fetch Chief Executive Ryan Mullholland will become president of Connotate, which also develops products to monitor and collect data and content from the Internet.
“Connotate and Fetch coming together will strengthen the company’s overall market position while creating innovations that customers will love,” said Connotate Chairman Liam Donohue in a statement.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
