The Gores Group LLC said that it closed the sale of its Vincotech Holdings Sàrl in Germany to Mitsubishi Electric Corp.
Billionaire Alec Gores’ investment company acquired the European power device company three years ago. It did not say in its Wednesday announcement what Mitsubishi of Tokyo paid for the company. Gores bought Vincotech from Tyco Electronics Ltd. for $100 million in 2007.
Vincotech manufactures and distributes low-power modules used in general industrial machines and solar power systems. The German company is expected to have roughly $75 million in sales this year.
Vincotech’s Electronics Manufacturing Services business in Shenzhen, China, did not transfer to Mitsubishi Electric in the deal, and is now a separate portfolio company of Gores.
