THE MONEY: In-N-Out Burger heiress Snyder-Ellingson took over her grandparents’ chain in 2017 and now is the company’s sole owner. The popular SoCal fast-food joint was founded in 1948 in Baldwin Park and is still headquartered there. It has since expanded to 391 restaurants across seven states. In 2012, Snyder-Ellingson became the country’s youngest female billionaire and has enjoyed a continued windfall as her family’s fast-food business expands. Snyder-Ellingson’s annual growth in net worth is in part the result of In-N-Out’s estimated revenue topping $1.6 billion as it added about a dozen locations in the past year. The burger billionaire also sold her home in Bradbury last year for $16.5 million.

THE BUZZ: Known as California’s first drive-through, In-N-Out celebrates its 75th anniversary this October. Snyder-Ellingson is penning a book about the reclusive In-N-Out family and business, which is due out Oct. 17. While it’s too early to tell what book sales might look like for Snyder-Ellingson, she might not be keeping all that cash – the book’s website promises all the author’s proceeds will benefit the In-N-Out Burger Foundation and the company’s anti-human trafficking nonprofit Slave 2 Nothing.
