Chair and Chief Executive, Saban Capital Group
The Egyptian-born Saban moved to Los Angeles in 1983 and launched
a chain of recording studios that became the top supplier of music for
television productions. He formed Saban Entertainment in 1988 and in
1993 launched the “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” franchise. Saban
merged his company with Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Kids Network, creating
a fully integrated entertainment company that was sold to the Walt
Disney Co. in 2001 for over $5 billion. To date, the Saban family has
given about $500 million to charities around the world.
