CENTURY CITY

Landing Deal: International Lease Finance Corp., a Century City-based aircraft leasing business, has completed its acquisition of AeroTurbine Inc., a Doral, Fla.-based provider of used aircraft and engine products, from Dutch aviation company AerCap Holdings N.V. AeroTurbine will operate as a subsidiary of ILFC, a subsidiary of New York insurance company AIG Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY

MONROVIA

Card Punched: Green Dot Corp., a Monrovia maker of prepaid debit cards, has partnered with Blackhawk Network Inc., a Pleasanton-based provider of prepaid and financial payments products, to get Green Dot cards into Blackhawk’s network of retail partners. Blackhawk will be adding Green Dot products to 10,000 of its locations over the next 24 months.

AZUSA

Battery Money: Contour Energy Systems, an Azusa developer of advanced battery technology, has raised $20 million in Series C funding. The Caltech spinoff said the round added a new lead investor, SBI Jeffries Asia Fund LP, a large global fund based in Singapore. The new money will be used to commercialize and add production capacity for its products in a wide variety of markets.

IRWINDALE

Lease Renewal: Superior Communications Inc., an Irwindale wireless products and services company, has renewed its lease for a 225,030-square-foot building at 5027 Irwindale Ave. The long-term deal with property owner Clarion Partners is valued at about $14 million.

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY

PACOIMA

Center Relocated: VEDC, a Van Nuys non-profit small-business lender, has moved its Women’s Business Center to Pacoima. The center, at 13172 Pacoima Blvd., will provide consulting, training and lending services to small-business owners in the Santa Clarita, Antelope and San Fernando valleys.

WOODLAND HILLS

Jumping In: Sky High Sports, a trampoline entertainment center, is scheduled to open in November at Warner Center on De Soto Avenue. The facility is the second location for co-owners Tara and Ron Whited, who own a Sky High Sports in Camarillo.

NORTHRIDGE

Hospital Property: IMT Capital LLC, a Sherman Oaks real estate investment firm, has purchased the former Northridge Valley Hospital campus for nearly $15 million from the King’s University, a Pentecostal seminary and college. IMT has plans for an apartment complex at the more than 160,000-square-foot site. King’s University will continue to operate from another Northridge location.

TRI-CITIES

BURBANK

Center Accredited: The Breast Health Center at Burbank’s Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center has been accredited by Chicago-based educational association the American College of Surgeons. The center offers various services including mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound services.

CORRECTIONS

An article headlined “Flower Vendor May Find Thorns in Expansion Plan” in the Oct. 10 issue incorrectly stated that United Online, FTD’s Woodland Hills parent company, is considering setting up supermarket floral displays offering cheaper flower arrangements than from its network of florists. The article was based on a stock analyst’s report. A company spokesman offered no comment for the article, but after publication, the company said it is not considering such a move. FTD sells flower arrangements in a limited number of grocery stores but has no plans to expand.

The profile of Monica J. Shilling in the “Who’s Who in L.A. Law” section in the Oct. 10 issue should have stated that the headquarters for Ares Capital Corp. is New York, not Atlanta.

An article in the Sept. 26 issue headlined “Risky Business” stated that the FBI had served a search warrant for loan files related to a former officer of Wilshire State Bank. The bank said it did receive a search warrant but it was not the FBI that served it.
