Barnum joined Brentwood in 1984 and co-founded the firm’s private equity effort. He serves as a director of Excelligence Learning Corp., Lazy Dog Restaurants, Sundance Holding Co., Teaching Co., and Veggie Grill. He is also a member of the advisory council of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, the dean’s advisory council of Stanford Law School, and the board of Harvard-Westlake School. Prior to joining Brentwood, Barnum worked at Morgan Stanley & Co. in the investment banking division. He is a graduate of Stanford University, Stanford Law School, and Stanford Graduate School of Business. Barnum was both an Arjay Miller scholar and a member of the Order of the Coif.

Recent transactions: Sold K-Mac Holdings Corp., one of the largest Taco Bell franchisees in the country. Completed the sale of Allen Edmonds Corp., a vertically integrated designer, manufacturer, marketer, and retailer of men’s premium handcrafted leather footwear and accessories, to Caleres, a portfolio of footwear brands.
