Stephen G. Larson is a partner in the law firm of Larson O’Brien, which he co-founded in 2016, representing government entities and businesses. He has appeared before the California Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court. He was a U.S. district judge and former chief of the organized crime and racketeering section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles. He has 27 years of trial and appellate experience. As a federal judge, he adjudicated more than 1,000 cases, serving first as a U.S. magistrate judge and then as a U.S. district judge for the Central District of California. Before opening his own litigation law firm with Robert C. O’Brien, Larson chaired the litigation department of a national law firm.

Enjoy most: Using the law to help people who are disadvantaged or are in a challenging position.

Toughest challenge: Selling cars at a Chevrolet dealership while in college.

Most excited: My seven children growing up. I have tried to teach them about life, but they have taught me what life is about.

Best advice: Be prepared, tell the truth, and do something you enjoy.

Beverage: French Burgundy, red or white.

Car do you drive: A Silverado pickup truck.
