Design Award: Hollywood’s 5+ Design has won the New Small Developments category at the International Council of Shopping Centers European Awards. The firm won for its Kozzy retail and office center in Istanbul, Turkey. The country’s Trade Council of Shopping Centers and Retailers has named the mixed-use property as Turkey’s best new shopping center under 164,000 square feet.

CHATSWORTH

Credit Line: Image Entertainment Inc., a Chatsworth-based home entertainment distributor and producer, has received a line of credit for up to $17.5 million from PNC Bank N.A., the principal subsidiary of Pittsburgh-based PNC Financial Services Group Inc. Image will use the money to expand into the digital and broadcast video-on-demand markets.

Parking Places: Quality Parking Service Inc., an Encino-based parking management company, has been acquired by Towne Park Inc., an Annapolis, Md.-based valet and parking services company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hospitality Honor: The Langham Huntingon hotel in Pasadena has been named the No. 1 hotel in Los Angeles County by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News compiled its hotel listings based on awards, travel expert analyses and customer feedback.

Done Deal: Ducommun Inc., a Carson-based aircraft components manufacturer, has completed its acquisition of LaBarge Inc., a St. Louis electronics maker. Ducommun acquired all issued and outstanding shares of LaBarge for $19.25 per share in cash for a total purchase price of about $338 million. LaBarge will be integrated into Ducommun under the name Ducommun LaBarge

Technologies.

CULVER CITY

Grand Opening: Em’s Artist Café has opened in Culver City’s art district. The new café, at 2926 S. La Cienega Blvd., is owned by Emory Rodgers.

CENTURY CITY

Online Strategy: Verde Media Group Inc., a Century City media company, has launched music and lifestyle website BeyondRace.com. Verde plans to tailor content on the BeyondRace platform to local affiliates in major cities across the United States, starting with Miami, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston, among others.

WEST HOLLYWOOD

Cued Up: Ustream Inc., a San Francisco company that broadcasts video on the web and to mobile devices, has opened a performance studio in West Hollywood. The new facility is at 6725 Sunset Blvd.
