Chatsworth

Restaurant Debut: A new location of Stonefire Grill, a family restaurant serving American fare, has opened at the Winnetka Center at 9229 Winnetka Ave. Owned by Mary Harrigan, the founder of Stonefire Grill, and her sister Maureen, the restaurant seats up to 175 customers and features both outdoor and indoor seating.



Commerce

Agreement Signed: Unified Grocers Inc. in Commerce has agreed to purchase certain assets and liabilities of Associated Grocers Inc. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The transaction was initiated on May 7, 2007, and is awaiting approval from AG shareholders before it can officially close. Unified Grocers is a grocery distributor and Associated Grocers is a wholesaler.



Vernon

Sweet Smells: True Religion Apparel Inc. and Selective Fragrances have signed a licensing agreement to launch male and female fragrance lines in the fall of 2008. The two new scents will be sold in True Religion stores and will hit the shelves of nationwide department stores such as Nordstrom’s and Bloomingdales. The fragrances will also be sold at more than 1,000 specialty stores across the country, including Sephora and Ulta, and internationally in Europe, Japan and additional foreign markets.



El Segundo

Legal Team: Krutzman Carson Consultants, an administrative technology company for the legal and financial industries, has formed an alliance with Firmex Inc., a company that specializes in innovations in deal management technology. The alliance aims to pair professional-level client service with “Virtual Deal Room” technology by offering KCC DealView to KCC clients. Virtual Deal Room technology allows the execution of transactions over computer platforms. Powered by Firmex, KCC DealView is a suite of deal-management tools and services designed to assist in the management of complex corporate transactions.



Hollywood

Photo Finish: San Diego-based OnRequest Images, the world’s leading provider of OnBrand custom imagery, has opened a production center and photography study in Los Angeles, expanding its West Coast presence. The new facility will provide the company with access to Los Angeles area production staff, models and photographers. The office will serve as a production hub to manage and streamline the photo shoot process.



Downtown L.A.

Office Space: Fort Properties, based in downtown Los Angeles, has recently made three Class “A” property acquisitions. The office buildings acquired were located in Phoenix, Arizona, Houston, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska, and totaled over 340,000 square feet of space. They consist of North Belt Office Center III and IV, located in the Greenspoint submarket of Houston, the Foothills Corporate Centre II in Phoenix, and the ConAgra Supply Chain Center in Omaha.



Ventura

Agency Moving: American Family Services, a non-profit religious corporation dedicated to aiding churches with family services, has recently moved to Ventura’s Anaca Business Park. The agency sold its location at 940 E. Santa Clara St. in downtown Ventura to John Brandwood, owner of Left Field Productions. Its newly acquired 3,288-square-foot property is at 4125 Market St.



Glendora

Animal Time: The new Glendora location of PetsHotel will provide dog and cat owners with care service for their pets. PetsHotels are each between 5,000 square feet and 7,000 square feet and located within PetSmart stores across the country. They offer amenities such as “poochy cots” and hypoallergenic lambskin blankets. The Glendora
