MySpace, Live Nation Eyeing 50 Cent

Soon-to-be-free-agent rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson could be the next major hip-hop star to score a big-bucks deal involving records, tours and other rights, the New York Post reports.


Hoping to follow on the heels of Jay-Z’s $150 million pact with Live Nation, insiders close to the rapper’s camp said that unnamed parties are already extending early feelers about his services.


“Fitty” currently owes two more records to Universal Music Group’s Interscope Records, and wants to get them both out before the end of the year so that he can focus on new contract offers from all comers, sources familiar with the situation said.


Meanwhile, the guessing game as to where he’ll land next is in full swing, with speculation late last week centering on a possible blockbuster deal with MySpace.


Several industry executives familiar with the situation were quick to dismiss the idea of a MySpace deal as premature.
