Despair.com

Somebody just sent this to me, actually. This site, I think, is the best representation of the market in which we are operating right now. Basically it satirizes the culture of the Internet and the notion of hype versus substance.

Truthorfiction.com

This site refutes rumors. It started up after Sept. 11, so any urban legends relating to that event and other ones are on there. On the site you can investigate rumors and see whether or not there is any truth to them. I haven’t been surprised by what’s true, but more as to what’s false. The politician’s section is always my favorite. Whenever I get an e-mail forward from a friend I go straight to truthorfiction. Most of the times, things aren’t true.

Vindigo.com

Ever since I got a Palm Pilot for Christmas I’ve been a big fan of vindigo.com and avantgo.com. Those are both sites that allow you to customize downloads to your Palm Pilot. Vindigo gives you restaurant locations and movie times, etc. lots of great information for the Angeleno on the go. All the information is updated daily and downloaded to your Palm when you sync it with your PC.
