Dinner With Friends: “Dinner with Friends,” the Pulitzer prize-winning play by Donald Margulies, continues its run this week at L.A.’s Geffen Playhouse. LACMA on California: It will take every available space in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to accommodate its new exhibition, “Made in California: Art, Image, and Identity, 1900-2000.” The museum-wide exhibition addresses the relationship between the arts in California and the state’s evolving image over the past century. The exhibition opens Oct. 22. As always, LACMA is free on the second Tuesday of every month, which falls this month on Oct. 10. Violin Prodigy: 13-year-old Japanese violin prodigy Mayuko Kamio joins the Pasadena Symphony on Oct. 21 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. Kamio and the orchestra will perform Violin Concerto No. 5 by Vieuxtemps and Symphony No. 4 by Shostakovich. The night marks the opening of the Pasadena Symphony’s 73rd season. Twilight’s Last Gleaming: Comedian, writer and actor Harry Shearer world-premieres “Twilight’s Last Gleaming,” a play about a timely theme: low voter turnout. Santana in the Bowl: Soulful guitar vet Carlos Santana plays the Hollywood Bowl Oct. 14 and 15 and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Oct. 17.
