Light it up: It’s L.A.’s answer to the annual tree-lighting at Rockefeller Center. Except it will have bigger stars on Nov. 30 at Century Plaza Towers when the benefit for Starlight Children’s Foundation features country-western singer Randy Travis and Emmy-Award winner Dennis Franz. There’s also a jumbo screen for holiday movie clips and celebrity greetings.

Media maven: Called the perfect artist for this noisy Age of Talk, Barbara Kruger has 70 works on display at MOCA at the Geffen Contemporary. Her feminist themes run from abortion to battering, domestic labor to breast cancer. Among the highlights is “Untitled (Your body is a battleground),” which has also became a popular T-shirt. Show runs through Feb. 13.

Design time: Shop ’til you drop for some of the hottest clothing and home furnishings around at “Divine Design ’99: Style for Sale” to be held Dec. 2-6 at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. Up for grabs will be stuff from BCBG, Oliver Peoples, Joe Boxer, Kenneth Cole, Jonathan Martin and Nicole Miller. Proceeds benefit Project Angel Food.

Dinner in Paris: Nice of Neil Simon to pick L.A. instead of Broadway for the world premiere of “The Dinner Party,” his latest comedy about a group of strangers asked to gather for mysterious reasons at a restaurant in Paris. The show opens Dec. 2 at the Mark Taper Forum and features a bunch of familiar faces, including Henry Winkler, John Ritter and Edward Herrmann.
